Rochford District Council has produced a special online guide to help anyone who is planning to put up a banner, advertisement or sign in the District.
The national rules in this area are often complicated and can lead to disappointment. To try and help, the Council has put together a special online guide to explain what you need to do if you wish to erect an advertisement, banner or sign.
The guide can be found on the Rochford District Council website here: www.rochford.gov.uk/banners
Whether you need guidance on putting up a sign advertising your business or a banner advertising an event you’re holding, there’s advice, information and the regulations to help guide you.
The Council is always willing to provide further advice and help should the online guide not give you what you need. You can call 01702 318 191 to discuss any issues about placing banners, advertisements and signs in the District.
Rochford District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Planning and Transportation, Councillor Keith Hudson, said: “If you are considering erecting a poster, banner or installing a more permanent advertisement any time soon, I encourage you to refer to the new information provided on the Council’s website.
The national regulations for advertisements are anything but plain and straightforward, if you are in any doubt as to what is permissible and what is not, please contact one of our planning officers, they will be pleased to advise you, free of charge, and it will help to avoid disappointment.”
